Get your creps lookin’ slick when you have the right tools at your disposal. Cleaning shoes involves getting the dirt and grime off and keeping them looking and feeling fresh. Whether you’re learning how to clean your white shoes or your fave pair of Js, we got the tools and how-to to help you.

THE BASICS

First things first you gotta have the essentials. These include soft, medium and hard bristle brushes, a shoe tree, a cleaning solution, a suede eraser, microfibre cloth, travel wipes, a protectant, and a deodoriser.

THE PROCESS

Cleaning your sneakers feels like a lotta work but only if you don’t know how. You ain’t gotta worry ‘bout that - we’ll show you how it’s done.

Cleaning the shoe

Start by removing the laces and keeping them aside to clean later and insert the shoe tree so you have a better surface to apply more pressure when cleaning.

Next up, take the cleaning solution and mix it up per the instruction using the soft bristle brush. Shake off the excess solution and begin pre-treatment using the soft brush to loosen the dirt on the shoe. If your kicks have any stubborn stains, use the medium bristle brush to clean ‘em up. You can even use it along the midsole and foxing tape to remove any dirt or marks. Finally, use a hard bristle brush to give the outsole a deep clean; removing dirt and grime stuck between the grooves. Use a microfibre cloth to wipe off any excess solution and let it air dry.

If you have suede shoes you can use the shoe stain eraser to quickly and easily remove tough stains. To remove tougher stains, use a suede-specific brush or a soft bristle brush. Brush the grain of the suede to remove the stain or scuff to not damage the material.

Maintaining the shoe

Now that you’ve put in all the hard work to clean ‘em kicks, the best way to sustain that crisp look is using cleaning wipes that are great when travelling. You can even use a protectant that will stop liquids and stains in their tracks.

Keep ‘em fresh

Freshen your creps with a shoe deodoriser. Spray it inside the shoe to eliminate bad odours and bacteria, leaving it feeling fresh for your next use.
